Green Power is used in Adelboden for public lighting, shop windows, major events such as FIS Ski World Cup and also by Adelboden Tourism. Individual households in Adelboden also have the option of utilising Green Power.

Mountain Transportation Adelboden AG:
On 9 November 2006, Mountain Transportation Adelboden AG received a commendation from the pro natura - pro ski foundation. The reason for this accolade was the company's involvement in the project "Auditing in ski regions". In this study, different winter sport resorts in Austria, Germany and Switzerland underwent checks on their ecological development. Thanks to the support of the participant enterprise it was possible to compile a handbook on ecological revaluation.

Engstligenalp:
Engstligenalp lies in the middle of a region of national significance with many natural protection areas. Consequently, Engstligenalp Mountain Transport AG is subject to strict protection laws as are the farmers who cultivate the land. For example, sullage cannot be sprayed on the land twice a year by machine, which is normal procedure, but each day by hand over the fields. This encourages diverse Alpine flora and fauna.

Further details about measures taken by Engstligenalp Mountain Transport AG are available from: Adrian Brügger, Managing Director, Engstligenalp Mountain Transport AG, direction.engstligenalp@bluewin.ch

The electricity used by the Engstligenalp cable car is also produced by their own small power station.
